300408 (Wednesday) - Nara 奈良, Nara PrefectureHeaded for Nara today in the morning. Nara was a bit further from Osaka and I need to change 2 trains from my place in central Osaka. But I took the semi-rapid train which skipped a lot of stations and the whole journey there took around 1 hour. :)
Nara was the very first capital of Japan from the 700s but was shifted to Kyoto after that. The prefecture was more or less a countryside with so many farming fields. But I really liked Nara as it offers an ancient feel with all the Shrines and Buddhist temples. (If you like ancient Japan, then Nara is the place for you!) And unlike Kyoto, everything was clustered together and I can finish exploring the main attractions in 4 hours. =)
