4th Week - Friday (010208) Start of a New Month!

Was very busy in office today. So busy that I had no time for lunch and had to settle for 2 slices of bread, and so was my sup! He ate sandwiches instead of going out for lunch!!! We finally settled our stuff at 4 plus before going for meeting at 5.30pm...

Had to treat my bento lunch as dinner and ate it at 7pm in the office. Then I went back to rest before attending Dan Shibu daimokukai at 9.30pm...

But when I came out of the lift, I saw a notice from my letterbox. It's a note left behind by Kuroda-san saying that today's chanting meeting was cancelled and he will come again next week. I was disappointed when I read this but since I was already downstairs, I decided to take a walk outside.

Received a note from Kuroda-san in my letterbox

Night Scenery of the river outside my apartment. My apartment is on the opposite side...

I walked along the river, just outside my apartment and just anyhow wandered off after that. I walked to a point where I reached residential area and the surrounding area was so quiet and dim with no one in sight. So Idecided to walk out to the main road and walked down from there. There was really nothing to see as almost 90% of the shops were closed except for a few お好み焼 and 鉄板焼 shops still open. I walked for another 15 minutes until I saw a supermarket, called Fresta. This was quite a big mart with the bright display lights in an otherwise dark and quiet side of this town. I went in to check the price but as usual, it has nothing cheap to offer. As a result, I continued to walk in the cold and freezing weather. It came to a point whereby I started to think where exactly I'm in. With no map on hand and I don recognise the names of the road names and signs, I started to panic a bit. But luckily, I saw the tram's tracks! Hence, I just followed the tracks and when the trams went past me, I looked at its terminating station and it states 広島駅 (Hiroshima Station). So I am walking in the correct direction. :)

Tram heading for Hiroshima Station

I kept walking for another 15 minutes until a junction where I saw 2 YWDs from my district. But they were talking then and did not notice me. I felt strange as how come I can meet them in this place. As they cycled past me, I realised that just 3 more junctions down is my place! Haha! I took 1 hour to reach back to Tokaichi but felt that it's too short. So I decided to keep on walking to the end of the tram line, which is 横川駅 (Yokogawa Station). It took me 30 minutes to reach the station and along the way, everything was also closed and I can hardly see any people around. Over at the station, majority of the shops are already closed except for one supermarket, which is Fresta again! I went in to defroze my hands and feet and just walked around checking out the prices. And nothing special on the prices. After 20 minutes loitering around, I finally walked back home. I reached my apartment at 11pm and went to discuss with Claire our plans for tmr before going back into my room to rest.
