Today, I spent the first half of the day sending e-mails out to all the jap friends I know, informing them of my stay in Hiroshima and possibly meeting them up somewhere in other parts of Japan.
After this I was shacked out with the numerous mails I have typed and hence I went to take a nap, which as usual, overshot my estimated time of waking up. Immediately after this, I went straight into packing my documents and stuff that I'm bringing to Japan. While packing, I suddenly realised that I'm actually leaving tomorrow!!! Although I know I'm flying tmr long time ago, it's only at that instance in time that strikes me and give me a deeper meaning in thought. From tmr onwards, I will be all by myself, without my family members and close friends around me for 6 months. Hmmm, I must really take this period to train myself up both in my work and independent living and also strengthen up my faith in Japan!
Then in the evening, I called Mr Hashimoto-san. I have tried calling him several times since a few days ago but everytime, the answering machine would always say the user is not available. (If I understand what the japanese lady is saying on the phone. Hehe...) But today, Mr Hashimoto-san finally picked up the call but he straight away passed it to Mrs Hashimoto-san cause she knows how to conserve in simple english. So I told her that I will reach Hiroshima on Thursday afternoon and that I will call her once I reached. But she said both of them will be working and hence I suggested calling them at 7pm. I also told them of my apartment, which is in Suncourt Tokaichi in Tokaichi machi, which is very near to their house. The whole conservation was funny cause it was in half english and half japanese. This will be the very start of a challenging yet interesting convervation with the Japanese people in the future.
